INVENTORY

 

An inventory at the start and finish of the project year is a necessary part of your record. The beginning inventory is a listing of the items (and their value) that you own which are on hand at the beginning of the project (September 1st). The closing inventory is a listing of the items that you own and have on hand at the end of the project (August 31st). Record the estimated market value for each item. Items purchased after the project starts should be listed under Operating Expenses. The closing inventory for one project year is the beginning inventory for the next project year.
